Year 2 visit a Mosque
Year 2 visited the Masjid-Al-Farouq in Palfrey as part of their Religious Education.
We had an amazing time at the mosque seeing the actual things we had been learning about in RE. The children were able to name loads of the key features as they toured around the mosque and answer simple questions about the Five Pillars of Islam. It was wonderful to see such wonder on their faces as they spotted things they had learnt about over the half-term. The children were an amazing credit to the school, they really ROARed! They showed respect to those volunteers who showed us around the Mosque; they showed interest and wonder in the different aspects of the building and the dedication of Muslims to their faith; they listened to the Imam and showed ambition by taking in the new learning and then finally they radiated all the learning by shining as they shared, back in school, what they had learnt and experienced - showing tolerance, acceptance and understanding of others who are different to themselves.
